Born in Scranton, son of the late Edward and Hattie Haas Reese, he resided most of his life in the Abington area. He had been employed at the Scranton Lace Corporation and later was superintendent of building and supplies at Lourdsemont School.

He served in the Marine Corps in both World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clark's Summit, the VFW Abington Memorial Post, and Waverly Lodge 301, Free and Accepted Masons. Also surviving are a daughter, Daneen Elva Reese, at home; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Bayliss, Emmaus; and nieces and nephews. A brother, James, preceded him in death. Patrick, and, at the time of his illness, was employed by Scranton Maintenance. He also was operator of Bob Maguire Party Supplies. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and attended the University of Scranton. Dorsheimer who died in 1963. Born i in Newton daughter of the late Erastus and Laura Kittle Osterhout, she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of the Schultzville United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, served as the education chairperson and Sunday School treasurer of the church, and was member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a former Sunday School teacher and former member of the Newton Grange. Surviving are a sister, the Rev.
